Obituary
STEVE MILLER - GAILEN PRIDEAUX
STEVE MILLER - July 30, 1962-March 18, 2005

Steve Miller passed away on March 18, 2005 at the age of 42.

Steve was very outgoing and lived life to the fullest. He loved playing and watching tennis and was part of the Seattle Gay men’s tennis team, Seattle Tennis Alliance. He loved to watch college basketball. He was planning on playing on the Seattle Gay men’s softball team this spring. Most of all he loved his two Yorkie Terriers, Matz and Mac.

Born in Bellingham, Steve lived in the Wallingford area in North Seattle. Steve worked at Fred Meyer on Capitol Hill for many years. His last position was at IAM CARES (International Association of Machinists Center for Administering Rehabilitation and Employment Services) a non-profit organization for which Steve was Area Project Director before being recently promoted to president for the Seattle region. IAM CARES was founded in 1980 by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. The objective that drew Steve to this organization is the fact that IAM CARES promotes employment opportunities, job security and training for people with disabilities (physical and AIDS/HIV). IAM CARES remained closed the day of Steve’s funeral in his honor.

Steve’s funeral was held on March 22, 2005. The service took place at Solie Funeral Home in Everett, WA.

Steve is survived by his ex-partner and good friend of 16 years, Robert Schechter, who resides in Chicago; and the Miller family.

Steve Miller will be missed greatly by all his friends, community and family.
