ACTION Northwest, LGBT community Center and LGBT Advisory Council to the Seattle Police present: A Forum on Public Safety
A Forum on Public Safety
In light of the Micah Painter Verdict and other violent crimes effecting our community we are going to discuss safety procedures, crime reporting, communication between the SPD and the community through the advisory council, self defense and funding programs to be proactive in combating any backlash the community could receive as a result of victories we may achieve later on in the year. Community groups will make presentations on safety, the prosecuting attorney for the Micah Painter case will speak about these kinds of cases and the assistant to the chief of police will speak on reporting. We will also discuss funding opportunities to bring back the Q Safety Patrol. Forum is on Wednesday, May 4, 6:30 p.m. at the LGBT Center.

Endorsements so far include: Equal Rights Washington, Citizens advisory Council SPD, ACTION Northwest, Marriage Equality Now, LGBT Community Center, Verbena, Gay Community Social Services, Rally for Change (UW student group) and Seattle Gay News.
