In celebration of Pride month, QArts will present its annual show, “Portraits of Pride.” The show, in a variety of media, features self portraits by local artists from the LGBT community. The show will be on display at the Seattle LGBT Community Center gallery located at 1115 E. Pike St., and runs throughout the month of June. The official opening and artist’s reception will be held on Saturday, June 4, from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Every year, QArts asks artists in our community to turn their energy and talent to producing a self portrait. How we see ourselves is central to the question of “Pride.” The artworks that result mirror our own sense of Pride and give us a reference to our place in the greater LGBT Community. We hope you will take time during the month of Pride to visit the gallery, enjoy the work and share in these portraits of Pride.

For more information about “Portraits of Pride” please visit the Center’s website, www.seattlelgbt.org or email QArts at gallery@seattlelgbt.org or call the Center at (206) 323-2227.

QArts is a program of the Seattle LGBT Community Center and provides a forum for the education, appreciation and preservation of the fine arts as they pertain to the LGBT community of Seattle.
