Special cabaret performances planned for entire month

Thumper’s has a fabulous line-up of entertainment for your Gay Pride this month. Come out and see Lisa Koch and Peggy Platt in Dos Fallopia! They’re back and it will be a guaranteed good time. This is just one of the many cabaret shows Thumper’s has given stageroom to this month, featuring a slew of talented actors, singers and dancers. Thumper’s is located at 1500 East Madison. Coming to Thumper’s June 10 is “A Taste of Off-Broadway” featuring jazz singer Tani Erickson along with pianist/composer D.J. Wilson. Enjoy an evening of sassy, sultry and saucy songs like “My Heart Belongs to Daddy”, “Shimmy Like My Sister Kate” and “The End of a Love Affair”, perfect for the intimate setting of Thumper’s cabaret-style lounge.

Tani has sung with local groups like the Overton Berry Trio, the Uptown-Lowdown Jazz Band, and Percy Bronson’s big band. She has also been a regular cast member in Vashon’s Drama Dock productions - including her favorite role as “Prudie” in Pump Boys & Dinettes. D.J. has been involved in musical theater for 30 years, and has composed 13 musicals - all produced.

This special evening of cabaret is brought to you by Emerging Artists, White Raven Productions, and Contemporary Artists as a collaborative fundraiser for the future production of john & jen, a chamber musical by Andrew Lippa. With musical direction by Mark Rabe and with performers including Patriia Britton, Jim Gall, Bradon Ivies, Bobbi Kotula, Ellen McLain, Jessica Skerritt, Katie Tomlinson, this evening is sure to be a rare treat. It will include a sneak peak at john&jen with Brian Earp and Ann Evans.
