Just released: Seattle’s Queer Drug and Alcohol Resource Guide
Seattle’s first ever official guide to drug and alcohol resources for the LGBT community, Gay men in particular, has just been released by Public Health - Seattle & King County. This pocket-sized guide was produced by the Gay Men, Drug Use, and HIV Workgroup and contains the most current list of treatment, support group, harm reduction and HIV/STD testing services for the queer community. Cards are being distributed in bars, businesses, agencies, doctors’ offices, clinics, community organizations, and other programs serving LGBT folks.

View the resources on-line at www.homohealth.org. Since resources are likely to change or increase, the website is the place to go for up-to-the-minute information. The website also includes reliable information on different types of drugs, a primer on drug treatment 101, and other help info for folks currently involved in problematic substance use. Watch soon for an upcoming section on resources and advice for friends, families, and partners too!

This web address will also appear each week in an ad in the “Counseling Services” section of the Seattle Gay News starting this Friday.

Please help spread the word about this new resource. If you need more copies for your program, email susan.kingston@metrokc.gov or call (206) 205-6105.
