In honor of National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, nine panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center along with a collection of visual art pieces created within the local community relating to issues associated with HIV/AIDS. The opening reception is on Friday, March 17th at 7:00 - 9:00 pm.
You can participate in three ways:
o From February 13th - March 17th, 2006 write in our memorial book: "Alive in These Pages: A tribute to those we remember" will be on location throughout the Seattle community. You can honor people you know who have died of AIDS by writing their names or stories or taping their pictures to the pages.
o From February 13th - March 17th, 2006 you can submit pieces of art to be displayed alongside the AIDS Memorial Quilt. All submissions must relate to issues associated with HIV/AIDS.
o March 10th-12th, 2006 free sewing workshops are taking place throughout the Puget Sound area for people to sew new panels for the AIDS Memorial Quilt in honor of a loved one who died of AIDS.
