HEALTH SEEKS PAINTERS
The Center for LGBT Health, a collaborative project of Verbena and Gay City Health Project, is looking for folks that know their way around a paint brush! Volunteers will be needed Saturdays - March 4th & March 11th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. RSVP with Mary Dzieweczynski (mary@verbenahealth.org) if you are interested. The Center for LGBT Health is located at 511 East Pike Street between Bolyston and Bellevue on Capitol Hill.
HRC BOWLING EVENT
TO ROLL THIS WEEKEND
Leilani Lanes (10201 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle) will host the 4th Annual Human Rights Campaign bowling event, "The Bowled and the Beautiful," on Saturday, March 4th, 5:00 - 11:00 PM $35/person. LEATHER PRIDE WEEK 2006
The 14th annual event runs from Friday, March 10 to Sunday, March 19, and features over 50 events in 7 cities around the state. The Washington State Mr & Ms Leather 2006 Contest will be held at The Cuff Complex on Saturday, March 18, 6pm doors; contest begins at 7pm. CRISIS IN DEMOCRACY SERIES
HOLD WORKSHOP ON
ARTICULATION
The Crisis in Democracy series will present an all-day workshop at Epiphany Church's Great Hall on Saturday March 11 from 9 to 3 PM on "The Power of Articulation: Language, Identity, and Political Strategy." Presenters are David Domke and Crispin Thurlow, professors and media professionals in the Communications Department of the University of Washington. Registration fee is $45 including lunch, and $35 if you bring your own. Checks may be sent to Democracy in Crisis at 5212 Ivanhoe Place N.E., Seattle WA 98105. TWO WORKSHOPS ON
SPIRITUALITY TO BE HELD
Michael Sigmann, will be leading two workshops in Seattle this month. On Saturday, March 11, he will host a workshop on spiritual recovery. This one-day workshop and evening session is designed to help you discover your capacity for presence - a way to transform your mind from a lousy master into a faithful servant. He will also lead a workshop on spiritual recovery from HIV/AIDS on Sunday March 12. Spiritual Recovery from HIV is a course designed to help us regain a sense of peace in the midst of coping with the challenges of HIV. MARCH AND RALLY
FOR MARRIAGE EQUALITY
Marriage Equality Now will be holding its second Annual March & Rally for Marriage Equality on Saturday, March 11, 2006. The march will begin at Seattle Central Community College on Capitol Hill at 12 PM and end at Westlake Center (Downtown) for a 1 PM rally. Speakers will include: Rep. Ed Murray; Jamie Pederson of Lambda Legal; Marsha Botzer, Co-Chair of The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and Director of Ingersoll Center; Fran Dunaway, Executive Director of Equal Rights Washington; Roger Winters, President of the Legal Marriage Alliance of Washington; Genevieve Aguilar, ACLU; Drew Emery, Director of the film Inlaws & Outlaws; Davina Kotulski, Executive Director of Marriage Equality USA, and author of Why You Should Give A Damn About Gay Marriage.

GENITAL HERPES TESTING
FOR GAY/BI MEN
For the past two years, Gay and Bisexual men have received free genital herpes testing (HSV-2) through the Public Health STD Clinic at Harborview (STD Clinic), Gay City Wellness Center, and through the HIV Prevention Trials Unit's (HPTU) Link Study. As of late March 2006, free testing will end. This will also end testing at all locations except the STD Clinic. Gay and Bisexual men are encouraged to get tested before the end of March to take advantage of this important test at no charge.
LGBT DIVING CLASSES
Lighthouse Diving Center will be holding a special class for the LGBT community on diving in the Puget Sound, depending on the level of interest. Lighthouse Diving Center, the areas oldest SCUBA diving school, has been certifying divers for over 34 years. The course runs 2 nights a week for 3 weeks and going to the open water the last weekend. The cost is $179.00, which includes the equipment - with the exception of your basic gear, such as mask, snorkel, fins, booties and gloves. A minimum of 6 divers is to conduct an exclusive course.
