NEW WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM TO BE FORMED

Rain City Soccer Club, the predominantly LGBT soccer organization in Seattle, is forming a new women's soccer team. An information meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 29, from 7 PM to 8 PM at the East Madison YMCA (1700 23rd Ave, Seattle). All women - regardless of sexual orientation and skill level - are welcome.

FUTURE OF PUBLIC ACCESS IN DOUBT

The Seattle City Council's Energy & Technology Committee will conduct a public hearing on a proposed ordinance granting Comcast a renewed franchise to provide cable services in most areas of Seattle. Under the new aggreement, local public access television will recieve $160,000 less per year. The hearing will be held on Thursday, March 30, begining at 5:30 PM at the Seattle Center's Shaw Room (just North of Key Arena).

YOUTH CHOIR SEEKS NEW MEMBERS

Diverse Harmony, the choir for youth ages 13-22 - Gay or straight, will hold its weekly practice at Seattle First Baptist Church (1111 E. Seneca St., Seattle) on Thursday, March 30, from 6-8 PM. The choir is preparing for its Spring concerts on May 19 and 20 and will perform at the opening ceremonies of the Gay Games in Chicago in July. For more information, visit: www.diverseharmony.org

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Volunteers are needed to help paint the floors of the new Center for LGBT Health (511 East Pike St., Seattle) on Saturday, March 25th. Strong arms will also be needed on Thursday, March 30, and Friday, March 31, to help move Gay City to its new location. People with trucks are also needed. LIBERATION THEOLOGY TEACH-IN

Sojourner Truth Ministries will be sponsoring a "Liberation Theology Teach-In" on Saturday, April 1st, from 10 AM to 4 PM at El Centro De La Raza (2524 16th Av So., Rm #208, Seattle). Workshop topics include: The bible & the nature of oppression, environmental racism and our spiritual relationship to the land and labor movements and spirituality. Lunch is provided. BUILDING BRIDGES WORKSHOP TO BE OFFERED

NCBI Seattle, which seeks to move individuals and organizations towards a just, inclusive society through training and leadership development, will be offering its "Building Bridges Workshop" on Saturday, April 1, from 9 AM - 4 PM at The 2100 Building (2100 24th AVE S, Seattle). $30-$100, sliding scale. Building Bridges is a unique, award-winning workshop that has been used in communities around the world. NCBI's will also be hosting a Leadership Development Clinic (Train the Trainer workshop) in late April. SISTAH2SISTAH TO HOLD BOWLING EVENT

Sistah2Sistah, a community for Sistah's of African Descent who promote visibility and unity among Lesbians of African Descent in the greater Seattle & Tacoma area, will be holding "Sistah Bowl" at 7 PM on Saturday, April 1, at Acme Bowling (100 Andover Park West, Tukwila). $5.50 per person, per game; shoe rental $3.00. AVER TO HOST CALL TO DUTY RECEPTION

Call To Duty, stories of coming out against "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," will be appearing at the University of Washington on April 3. In conjunction with this visit, American Veterans for Equal Rights (AVER) Puget Sound is hosting a reception at a Des Moines home on the evening of Saturday, April 1st. ACTION NORTHWEST TO HOLD SECOND POETRY SLAM

ACTION Northwest will hold its second poetry slam on Thursday, April 6, from 7 PM - 9:30 PM at On The House Cafe (1205 E Pike St 1A, Seattle). Performances will be based around the theme of civil rights for all minorities and the legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A $5 donation to benefit the affiliates of ACTION Northwest will be gladly accepted. PRIDE FOUNDATION ADVOCACY FUND APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE

Applications are now available to organizations working on LGBT equality issues in the region through the Pride Foundation's new Advocacy Fund. This is the first of several planned grant cycles based on community need and funds availability. Organizations with projects focused on winning new allies for LGBT communities in the region are encouraged to apply. The deadline for completed applications is April 7th.
