| Decisions to be made regarding 2007 and 2008 funding for HIV/AIDS care services in King County |
The Seattle HIV/AIDS Planning Council, through its care prioritization and allocation committee, will begin making decisions about which types of services will be funded with the nearly $5.5 million in Ryan White CARE Act, Title I funds. The Planning Council is the local decision-making body that determines how particular federal, state and local funds will be awarded for HIV/AIDS care service delivery in King County.
A committee, comprised of consumers and service providers, will use data from a variety of sources, including an assessment of need which surveyed over 450 consumer and nearly 200 providers, to determine funding levels for up to 20 services. The process will take place over 10 Tuesday afternoons, beginning on April 11. Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meetings and join in the discussions.
The first meeting will be on April 11 at 12:30 p.m. at the 2100 Building, 2100 24th Avenue South in Seattle. Meeting locations will vary, so please contact Jesse Chipps at 206-205-5511, jesse.chipps@metrokc.gov or Laramie Smith at 206-296-4527, laramie.smith@metrokc.gov to get information about specific times and locations of future meetings.
