| Delightful fluff, Wonderful Town will make you laugh and leave you humming |

There's only a few more performances left, but you should run, not walk to see the delightfully funny Wonderful Town, now on stage at the 5th Avenue Theatre. And hope they decide to extend the show a bit, so even more folks can laugh as hard as we did when we went for opening night.
It's an old-fashioned show, with the plot revolving around two sisters (Sarah Rudinoff and Eileen Wildrick) who arrive in New York City from Kansas and - like in those old Mickey Rooney/Judy Garland flicks - try to make it in the big time. One wants to be an actress, and the other wants to have her manuscripts read and become the next big writer. Along the way, they fall in love, run afoul of their volatile artist landlord (David Pichette in his best role since I saw him in Dracula some years ago). They also get into all sorts of other trouble, and make for some very funny times for the audience.
With songs like 'Ohio', and 'It's Love', to name a few, Wonderful Town keeps the toes tapping and Sarah Rudinoff's antics will definitely keep you laughing. In fact, besides the songs, the best reason to see the show is Rudinoff, whose character hearkens back to greats like Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl, and Lucille Ball. She is without a doubt one of the best physical comedians in the city, (or anywhere else for that matter). And paired with winsomely attractive Billie Wildrick, this is one comedy that'll hit you in all of the right places. For show times, call: 292-ARTS (2787), or go online to www.ticketmaster.com.
