In 1979, Nick Garrison's mother, a normally sensible and loving woman, sat down to watch the film Looking For Mr. Goodbar with her six year old son, thereby starting a strange and not altogether unpleasant obsession in the boy that would follow him his entire life.
Nick Garrison and the band Sissyfist bring you an exploration of the themes of Looking For Mr. Goodbar in song, text, interpretive movement and Bunraku puppetry - OK, not really, but they do try to explore really hard.
Featuring original songs and covers, What You Sing Might Save You is a panoramic view of one person's struggle with what happens when your nightlife interferes with your daylife.
Nick Garrison and Sissyfist last appeared at Re-bar in the smash hit rock musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch and have gone on to perform multiple sold out performances across the greater Seattle area.
Nick Garrison is a writer, performer and director who appeared in the Seattle, Chicago, San Francisco and UK productions of Hedwig and the Angry Inch and has performed in Seattle at theaters such as The Seattle Rep, Intiman, ACT, The 5th Avenue, On The Boards, Annex, Empty Space and many others.
Sissyfist is Steve Newton (bass), John Hollis (drums), John Kornstein (guitar), Branden Romans (guitar), Eric Goetz (keyboards) and Babearella (vocals).
