| The Annual Interfaith Pride Service for Seattle will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2006 at 5:00 pm at Temple De Hirsch Sinai. The Interfaith Pride Service is sponsored for the first time by the Religious Coalition for Equality (RCE), a coalition of hundreds of religious leaders across Washington State committed to equal rights for all individuals and couples.
The focus of this year's Interfaith Pride Service is a celebration of Washington State's new Anti-Discrimination Law protecting the rights of all citizens, including Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgender persons. The Temple is located at 1441 Sixteenth Avenue on Capitol Hill between East Pike and East Union Streets. Music will be provided at the service by the Seattle Women's Chorus under the direction of Dennis Coleman, Diverse Harmony, the nation's first Gay-Straight Alliance Youth Chorus, under the direction of Rhonda Juliano, and the Madrona Presbyterian Choir directed by Kelle-Nelson Brown. The co-conveners of the Religious Coalition for Equality, Dr. Stephen Jones and Rev. Monica Corsaro, will speak on the importance of antidiscrimination to our faith and to our society. A variety of worship leaders will participate representing the major faith traditions. A reception will follow the service, hosted by Multifaith Works. Child care will be available during the service. An offering will be taken in the service to support the work of the Religious Coalition for Equality.
