| THIRD ANNUAL FRUIT BOWL AWARDS A SUCCESS |
As Guest of Honor Grethe Cammermeyer put it, "We cannot get too comfortable where we are as LGBT communities. We must keep working for equality and acceptance - and we must focus on what The Community Center means to Seattle." Building community one person, one organization, one event, and one life-changed at a time is our mission.
With over 325 people in attendance, this was The Center's biggest and most successful Fruit Bowl. Thanks to Schnizter Development Northwest, the old Safeway on Broadway at Roy was completely transformed with paper lanterns and color everywhere. Community Lead Sponsor E & J Gallo Winery thrilled everyone with bottles of their various wines on every table - and Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes Catering made mouths water.
But part of the focus was on the impact that The Center makes - being a 'hub' for information for Seattle and for those in need, a place to come together, and being a community catalyst - a leader. But the spotlight was on those who make an impact in our community.
