Seattle Black Pride to feature diverse programming
Seattle Black Pride to feature diverse programming
Seattle's Black Pride (SBP) is a newly organized non-profit organization dedicated to empowering, educating, and entertaining the Black same-gender loving community in the Seattle/Tacoma area. We have organized a variety of events that cater to the diverse interests of our community.

SBP welcomes this years featured speakers:

Donna Payne is one of the Human Rights Campaign's key representatives at the national and state levels. Payne works closely with a number of civil rights organizations across the country to increase visibility of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community within the religious and people of color communities.

Jasmyne Cannick is one of the founding members of the National Black Justice Coalition, the nation's only Black Gay civil rights group and an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists. Chosen as one of ESSENCE Magazine's "25 Women Shaping the World" in 2005, at 28, she is most known for her social and political commentary that addresses the intersection of race, religion, politics and sex.

We have an agreement with the following hotel:

The Silver Cloud Inn on Lake Union (1150 Fairview Ave N, Seattle) is about three miles from the Langston Hughes Cultural Arts Center, and about two miles from the Seattle Asian Art Museum. Bus travel to those locations is about 20-30 minutes. Call 1-800-330-5812 for reservation information.
