Mom's Apple Pie:The Story of the Lesbian Mothers' National Defense Fund, with narration by Kate Clinton
Mom's Apple Pie:The Story of the Lesbian Mothers' National Defense Fund, with narration by Kate Clinton
Mom's Apple Pie is the story of five Lesbian mothers and four (now adult) children and the horrific custody battles they faced in the early years of the modern Lesbian and Gay movement. Organizations such as the Lesbian Mothers' National Defense Fund (Seattle, WA) and the Lesbian Rights Project (San Francisco, now the National Center for Lesbian Rights), formed to share these burdens and provide technical assistance. The work of these early Lesbian-feminists paved the way for modern LGBT families.

In June, Mom's Apple Pie opened to a sold-out crowd at The Egyptian as part of the Seattle International Film Festival, then went on to play to enthusiastic audiences at Newfest (the NY LGBT film festival), and twice at Frameline 30, (the S.F. LGBT film festival). Negotiations are nearly completed for Frameline to represent and distribute the documentary, and the 3 Big Dykes are very, very grateful to everyone who has contributed to make this project a success! We hope you will join us at one of the coming up showings!

Please check out this film made by Seattle based film-maker/activists, it will be screened this weekend at the Capital theater in Olympia and at the Broadway Performance Hall in Seattle.
