Brick by Brick a success for the LGBT Center - $26,678 raised since program began
Brick by Brick a success for the LGBT Center - $26,678 raised since program began
The Seattle LGBT Community Center and Coors Light are pleased to announce that this year the Brick by Brick Campaign raised nearly $6000 for Seattle's LGBT Center! "With direct support from our community bars and pubs, as well as community members, we have raised over $26,678 in the few years we've had this event," said Executive Director Shannon Thomas. "This amount directly helps The Center fulfill its mission of "Providing opportunities and tools for LGBT individuals, organizations and communities that ensure their voices can be heard, included and affirmed; being a place to engage, organize and effect change.""

With the passionate involvement in the spirit of this fundraiser, bar owners and bartenders informed customers of the importance of the Seattle LGBT Community Center and how their donations are critical in The Center's ability to provide services to the Seattle LGBT community. "Without their continued support, we would not have been able to raise this incredible amount of money. It helps us keep our city's LGBT Center doors open!" Additionally, The Center is proudly displaying many of the purchased bricks in their front window.

The top Brick sellers for 2006 was: Madison Pub! "Roland and the gang at Madison Pub have been extremely supportive of this fundraising event, and The Center, since we opened in 2002. They clearly understand and support the need for an LGBT Center, and make it a goal to sell the most bricks every year," says Thomas. Second place goes to Martin's Off Madison.

The Center also thanks the following participants, who all sold many Bricks in support of The LGBT Center: Changes in Wallingford; The Eagle; The Elite; Manray; Neighbours; Purr; Rplace; The Crescent; The Cuff Complex; Thumpers; Wildrose; and Trax.

We look forward to another successful "Bars Building a Community Center BRICK BY BRICK" in 2007!

The Seattle LGBT Community Center is located at 1115 E Pike Street. For information on events and how to support The Center, call (206) 323-LGBT or visit www.SeattleLGBT.org.
