| Capitol Hill businesses revive Art Walk! |
The Capitol Hill Art Walk has been revived by local businesses along the Pike/Pine Corridor. On the 2nd Tuesday of each month city goers, scenesters and art lovers will be treated to an energizing night of art, music, dance, food and revelry. This new monthly event, cleverly nicknamed the 2Tue: Capitol Hill Art Walk, kicks off on August 8th, 2006 and will include a scavenger hunt as well as video art, sculpture, paintings, burlesque and photography.
This has been the collaborative effort of many local businesses to start a monthly night out on the Hill. "We decided on the 2nd Tuesday so as to not compete with other Seattle Art Walks", says Audrey McManus of Babeland, "and we were able to get a variety of venues and artist together for this monthly event. It should be very exciting". "The 2Tue Art Walk will highlight what Capitol Hill has to offers" adds Karl Fjellstrom from Galactic Boutique "and hopefully will gain the support of more businesses and residents to become something everyone can experience for years to come".
2Tue: Capitol Hill Art Walk starts on Tuesday, August 8th from 6:00-9:00PM and will include events at the following businesses: B-BAM! 907 E. Pike St.; Babeland 707 E. Pike St.; Bazr 910 E Pike St.; Faire 1315 East Olive Way; Galactic Boutique 1213 Pine St.; Kaladi Coffee 511 E. Pike St.; Salon Chemistry 723 E. Pike St.; Retail Therapy 905 E.
