Community leaders and City officials to be present
Hate and Bias Crime Community Forum
Thursday, September 14, 2006, 6:30pm-8:00pm
Seattle City Hall, Bertha Landes Room
The City of Seattle Commissions for Sexual Minorities and Human Rights will host a community forum on Hate and Bias Crime on Thursday, September 14, 2006, 6:30pm-8:00pm at City Hall. The forum will provide an opportunity for public input based on the report released this summer by Ken Molsberry and the LGBT Center in Seattle. In the report, race, sexual orientation, and religion emerge as the three most common bases cited in hate and bias crimes.
During the forum, Mr. Molsberry will give a brief overview of the report's findings and recommendations. Afterward, attendees will be invited to comment, ask questions and offer their own recommendations. Community leaders and City officials will be on hand to answer questions and to provide their own perspectives. The Seattle Channel will tape the event for broadcast at a later date.
This forum is an opportunity for the public to connect with City and government officials as well as community leaders in addressing hate and bias crime. We invited you to attend and to work with us to reduce hate and bias crime in Seattle.
