Rick Martinez (1967 - 2006)
Rick Martinez (1967 - 2006)
On September 11, Rick Martinez unexpectedly departed the large family of friends he cultivated over the past 15 years in the Seattle area, as well as the family and friends from his years growing up in Colorado. He was known as a dedicated friend, kind-hearted, generous, trusting, adventurous, and one who always brought out the best in his friends.

Rick was a fitness enthusiast and enjoyed a host of outdoor activities such as kayaking, hiking Mt. Rainer, weekend bike rides to Discovery Park, and floating on his raft at Denny-Blaine. Few knew about his dream of opening a furniture restoration shop. Even fewer knew of his volunteer work; a fact that reflects his modest nature.

Rick's friends will miss the frequent gatherings at his loft, where they were always welcomed with a sympathetic ear or a celebratory cocktail.

A sundown memorial ceremony will be held for Rick on Saturday, September 23 at 6:30 PM at Denny-Blaine Park, with a casual gathering to follow in the upstairs lounge at Purr. Attendees are encouraged to carpool due to the limited parking at the memorial site.
