LGBT youth choir to benefit from Thumper's fundraiser One Night Only,'a gala evening of cabaret to raise funds for Diverse Harmony'
Thumper's Restaurant and Bar (1500 East Madison) is pleased to present "One Night Only", a gala evening of cabaret to benefit Diverse Harmony on Friday, Oct. 20, 2006.

The evening will start at 7:00 PM with a four course meal with entertainment by Don Werth and Ruby Bishop, Seattle's living legend. Ruby will perform favorites from her many years of playing in and around Seattle. This will be followed by a grand cabaret show with many of Seattle's most popular, current cabaret performers. Arnaldo! and Charles Baker will perform from their vast songbook and will include some of their fans most favorite numbers. Jeannette D'Armand returns after her sold out summer shows at Thumper's and will dazzle with her vocal virtuosity. Mikel Poulsen and the Boys from Gaydar (Greg Bowman, Dan Duwe, Buddy Mahoney, Jacob Mahoney, Chuck Tracy, and Marc Willis) will perform a selection of numbers from Gaydars ever popular gay themed shows and are sure to bring the house down. Marcus Wolland will entertain as one of his many personalities. And Miss Cheryl Serio will be the mistress of ceremonies and will provide the evening with a sultry but always elegant style which is so often lacking from Seattle nightlife.

Diverse Harmony is the nation's first gay/straight alliance youth chorus. It was created to provide social connections, to nurture friendships, to promote musical education and provide a safe place for youth to be accepted for who they are. Their mission is to use the power of music to inspire and involve youth (ages 13-22) to change the world in which they live in and promote love and acceptance. Diverse Harmony will be beginning their fifth musical season this year and will appear in the independent film "Why We Sing" to be shown at the Seattle Gay/Lesbian film festival (

During the last year, Diverse Harmony was privileged to be the only youth chorus invited to participate in the Gay Games in Chicago. They participated as active members in the Games Chorus and gave individual performances in several different venues. Several singers were chosen to perform solos with the larger Gay Games Chorus. For more information, to join, or to request a performance, visit Members of Diverse Harmony will be present at the benefit to welcome guests and to answer any questions about this great group.
