| Love and the United States army; getting cozier with my 'love slave;' and more in this Lipstick and Lust |
by Rajkhet Dirzhud-Rashid -
SGN A&E Writer
By now I've tried everything from calling incessantly -- honey, true love has no pride -- to text messaging (who knew I had nerdy tech skills?), and now I'm doing this little 'open letter' here. Honey, I know the Army comes first, but take a moment and call a girl, okay? 'Cause I am missin' you too much to stay sane. So, there you go, a little 'personal message' to my hunk of burnin' love, who's on training duty, getting ready to go do soldier duties 'over there'.
Ah, the 1940's film my life has become since falling for my dear one! Still, it's all been worth it and the whole thing is inspiring a new serial story I'll start working on, putting together a 'blog' for the more creative part of the column tout sweet. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, I just lust for the newest member of the 'SG-1' team on Sunday nights, and get cozier with my 'love slave' who adores me while my 'army love' is being a soldier.
So, 'onward and upward,' I always say. I have been making lots of soups to comfort soul and mind, as well as trying new cosmetics that I'll share with you now. Also, I got the newest Benefit catalogue last weekend, and dahlings, I have my Christmas list all together now, for sure (although, the only thing I really want is my 'army love', home, with me for at least a couple of days before the big ship-out overseas). I'll keep you posted on what I try, when cash flow improves, sometime in the next few weeks, but I can tell you that 'High Beam', 'Dallas', and a couple of 'Show Offs' shadows, as well as 'Body So Fine' are on that list.
For now, I highly recommend for a little 'pick me up' during these days of eternal rain, Dr. Bronner's 'Peppermint Soap', which you can get by bulk at Madison Market. Sure conquers the blues, let me tell ya sweetie. And I recommend DHC's 'Eye Makeup Remover' and their 'Face Wash', which will get your face nice and clean after a glamorous night on the town. And these days, with the holidays upon us, that's an important thing my little muffins. And I also recommend 'Gaultier 2', by Jean Paul Gaultier, which is elegant and clean, and will make you feel very glam wherever you're off to in the next weeks. And finally, do try Bliss' 'Vanilla Bergomot' hand cream, which you can get at Sephora, and the perfume at Nordstrom. You can order DHC's products by calling 1-800-DHC-CARE.
And, in case you're of the non-cooking variety (there are some my dear, and I know a few, really!), here are a couple of recipes for an intimate dinner for two that has a holiday flair to it. For a light repast, take two Cornish game hens, completely thawed, wash (this is always a good idea in my opinion), and rub with melted butter. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste, and a little fresh rosemary, then drizzle either fresh lime juice, or lemon (your choice sweetie), over each, to cover. Cook at 350 degrees for about two hours, or until all meat is completely cooked through. Accompany with mashed potatoes, a green salad, and cornbread stuffing, which you make yourself with freshly baked cornbread (the box variety is just fine), chopped celery, salt, pepper, sage, a pinch of nutmeg, and finely chopped chanterelle mushrooms.
Mix everything together in a large bowl with one beaten egg and about a cup of chicken broth, add chopped onion (about one fourth of a cup) and two garlic cloves, finely chopped, as well as a fourth of a cup of finely chopped fresh parsely. When nice a squishy, bake in a pan until top is brown and a knife inserted in the middle, comes out clean. Enjoy with your favorite pie, sparkling cider or tea. Now, settle down to visit with and nuzzle with your sweetie. Bon appétit!
In the next couple of weeks, I'll give you my mama's sweet potato pie recipe and one for the best potato salad ever. For now, stay warm and dry, be nice to each other, be grateful for whatever love is in your life and whatever prosperity has come your way and stay in good spirits.
Me, I'll just keep asking my deities to have the Army let my love have some time off, so we can shake the windows and disturb my neighbors again with hot, monkey love/sex. And do feel free to e-mail me at ijanaral@yahoo.com, and look for the new L&L blog any time now. Buhbye!
