Seattle City Attorney files charges against reality TV Star
MTV star used anti-Gay, racist remarks against officer

by Devin Glaser - SGN Contributing Writer

The Seattle City Attorneys Office filed papers last week against Jason Daniel Wahler, once famous for his stint on the MTV reality shows Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and The Hills. This latest incident is one of four spanning four separate states to land Wahler in trouble with the law.

Twenty-year-old Wahlers most recent charges (Assault, Criminal Trespass, and being a Minor under the Influence) were filed May 11th for an incident that occurred at the Seattle Waterfront Marriott last month. According to police reports, officers responded to a disturbance at the hotel at approximately 12:30 a.m. on April 8th.

Wahler allegedly attacked hotel security guard Reynaldo Rodriguez by shoving him in the chest and punching him in the mouth after Rodriquez warned Whaler and two others to stop creating a disturbance in the hotel. Whaler was restrained by an unknown member of the trio and removed from the hotel. Wahler later returned and was contacted by Seattle police officers, who found him passed out on the hallway floor of the Marriotts third floor.

Officers awakened the unconscious Wahler and reported that he appeared very intoxicated and that there was a strong odor of intoxicants emanating from him. Once awake, he became threatening and abusive toward the arresting officers, hurling anti-Gay and racist remarks.

He repeatedly called me a [n-word], a faggot and a poor fuck, wrote Officer C. Depina in his incident report. Wahler stated he was rich and would have my ass.

Prosecutors are requesting 10 days in jail, a $4,500 fine, and treatment for alcohol addiction.

May looks to be a busy month for the ex-MTV star: he is scheduled to begin a 60-day sentence this month after punching a Los Angeles Department of Transportation worker and a tow-truck driver whose vehicles were blocking his path. Police records from the incident report similar racial slurs being used. In addition, Wahler is scheduled to appear in a Greenville, NC court May 23rd for more charges of underage drinking and resisting arrest.

Wahler has been previously arrested in New York for possession of an illegal substance, bribery of a public servant and resisting arrest.
