Gay liberal radio personality Mike Webb is missing - Friends, family have not heard from him in two months
by Devin Glaser - SGN Contributing Writer

Mike Webb, well known for his previous stints as a KIRO radio personality, has been missing since April 13, 2007. Seattle police are investigating his disappearance and his family has filed a missing persons report.

Webb, a lifelong activist and radio host, has worked for radio stations throughout the west coast. The young newsman spent his youth reporting on anti-war protests, civil rights marches, and youth issues for a handful of San Francisco radio stations. One of Webb's most prodigious moments in the spotlight came when he covered the violent murders of Gay San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk and Mayor Moscone by the savage ex-City Supervisor Dan White.

Webb hosted a KIRO talk show from 1996 to 2005, where he continued to involve himself with national politics and lobbied for Hate Crimes legislation and Tedd Kennedy's Employment Non-Discrimination Act.

In 2005, Webb was convicted of insurance fraud and lost his position with KIRO. He was sentenced to community service and a doctor's care for mental health issues that stemmed from his trial. Webb continued to broadcast his voice over his website, www.mikewebb.org, until April 13th, the day he vanished.

The missing person report states that Webb's family members were worried for his safety and that he had recently begun spending time with a "shady character" whose name was not released. Webb's home in Queen Anne has been left abandoned, and his June rent went unpaid.
