Thomas Stephen Ouimette (49) died on April 10, 2007 by committing suicide.
He was cremated shortly after his death. Thom had suffered a stroke in November 2006. The depression (which usually accompanies a stroke) set in fiercely and he became reclusive until the time of his death. At several times in Thom's life he found himself homeless. Because of these times, Thom never forgot the people who remained on the street and was generous of his time and resources. Thom was also the kind of friend who would come running if his friends needed help with anything. He is survived by his "true family: his best friend of thirty years and the many other friends who loved him with all their hearts.
A bank fund has been set up for the expenses of the memorial service at Washington Mutual. The money donated will be used for any costs for the service. As well, a bench will be provided in Thom's name at the Des Moines Park. The account number for any donations is 4211197226. Checks can be made payable to either: Memorial Fund or Connie Farrell. All donations will be anonymous except for the amount involved. There is no such thing as too small a deposit. Any excess funds not used for the memorial and the commemorative bench will be donated to Chicken Soup Brigade, in Seattle, in Thom's name.
Thom's crooked smile, bright blue eyes, and his generous and helping nature will be remembered and missed by all.
