On Thursday July 19th, the recovery community of Seattle lost one of our most dynamic members. Skip was an integral part of the GLBT recovery community and the recovery community as a whole, not only in Seattle but San Francisco as well. Skip died Thursday morning after suffering a sudden and overwhelming heart attack.
Countless lives were touched by Skip's wit and wisdom. His foundation of recovery and a deeply rooted belief in a power greater than himself, guided his actions in recovery and his daily life. Skip freely gave of himself to help others recover from the disease of alcoholism and addiction. One of Skip's most rewarding involvements was with Alanon; working with those whose lives were devastated by the effects of alcoholism/addiction of a loved one.
A memorial will be held in celebration of Skip's life on Sunday, August 5th from 3:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon, at Homer Harris Park, 2401 E. Howell, in Seattle. Following the memorial, friends and family are invited to gather at the Capitol Hill Alano Club, 1900 E Madison St. in Seattle.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to the Capitol Hill Alano Club, 1122 E Pike St. Suite 1109, Seattle, WA 98122
