FLY ALASKA AIRLINES
I just read the story of what happened to Kelly Brown on Southwest. I'm an Alaska Airlines flight attendant and we fly from Seattle to Spokane too. Next time, fly us. We're very Gay friendly. Our company recognizes our domestic partners and provides benefits. I doubt very much that anyone Gay would get that treatment on one of our flights. My partner and I both work for Alaska as do many Gay couples and it's just a given that we are who we are. Sorry for your experience. On our carrier, you'd probably have gotten very special and compassionate treatment like any other customer! Best wishes in your future travels.

THE IMPORTANCE OF
POLITICAL POWER IN ACTIVISM
As someone who has been a street activist and organizer of protests and National Marches for over 38 years, I understand the need of political power to implement what we are fighting for.
No matter how great - and he was great - Martin Luther King was in his dedication to civil rights, his support of Lyndon Johnson - a Democratic President whom he knew would pass the civil rights bill that Dr. King and so many hundreds of thousands of activists had worked for so many years - was a brilliant move.
To in any way demean that final partnership of one of the greatest civil rights leaders in history - the civil rights movement and Lyndon Johnson - is off base.
I clearly know that any civil rights activist, no matter how great and how dedicated, without a politician willing to implement the changes, is like the sound of one hand clapping.

NEVER STOP STRIVING FOR
HUMAN RIGHTS
Although our world is improving, there is much for us to learn about our right and how to achieve personally and politically.
Some states in our country have recognized our rights as human beings, but there are still many who are reclusive about the matter consistently. A bias we must diffuse.
Thank goodness for the many people willing to stand up for their rights financially, singly and in groups. They appear to be the forgotten angels of our livelihood.
How does this situation change?
o We don't have to be
second-class citizens.
o Learning that being Gay is not
an aberration.
o Contributing financially to Gay causes.
o Becoming knowledgeable about
the Gay world.
o Open the closet door and live&
Welcome to 2008. You're not alone.
