by Sara Michelle Fetters SGN Contributing Writer A Return to Camelot Saturday, February 16 Cocktails at 5:00 PM, Dinner and Coronation at 6:00 PM Marriot Waterfront Hotel 2100 Alaskan Way $75 The Imperial Sovereign Court of Seattle and The Olympic and Rainier Empire (ISCSORE) take center stage this Saturday to crown a new Emperor and Empress of Seattle during Coronation 2008, "A Return to Camelot," at the Marriot Waterfront Hotel. Other events include Rainier XXXIII Mark Dubois and Olympia XXXVI Sapphire Knight will celebrating their year as reigning monarchs and International Court System (ICS) Queen Mother Nicole the Great delivering her first-ever State of the Court address. "It should be an exciting night," said ISCSORE Vice-President Rod Fender. "Not only is this going to be a great opportunity to thank our current Emperor and Empress for all their hard work this past year, this is a chance to look to the future and to the hope of an even greater one for 2008-2009." Also part of Coronation festivities this year, the ICS will be staging an inaugural Women's Summit also to be held Saturday at the Marriot starting at 10:00 a.m. Events include an address from Queen Mother Nicole, a forum on women's health issues, a question and answer session entitled "The Art of the Drag King," a panel discussion on women involved with the ICS over the past four-plus decades and a keynote address from Jody Laine, local Seattle business owner and Secretary of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. "This is going to be an outstanding event," said event co-chair and former ISCSORE Emperor Rainier XXXI Rene Brown. "It is going to be a great opportunity for women to network with others within the Court System and learn about all of their differing experiences. It is the first time the ICS has reached out to women-identified persons to such a large degree, and the potential for this summit to be something truly special is really quite extraordinary." The event itself will feature a full diner, live performances, lip-synching and the usual pomp and circumstance. "Surprises, too," said Fender. "Don't forget about those. This is going to be a incredible event full of great entertainment. When you add in the cocktail social taking place before the event featuring an opportunity for people to meet people like Queen Mother Nicole and [ICS founder] Mama Jose, I'm positive anyone who chooses to attend will definitely be getting their money's worth."
