Micheal Curtis Rice
Micheal Curtis Rice
Micheal Curtis Rice died at his home in Burien, Washington on the morning of February 25, 2008 from complications of lung disease, at the age of 56 years. Some may remember him as Butch Pastel 253 on the old 28 Barbary Lane Online Bulletin Board in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Micheal spent his last 15 years on this earth with his devoted partner, Paul John Wentink III (aka Randal 3130), whom he met on Barbary Lane. Micheal attended weekly Support Groups at Dunshee House, and joyfully volunteered during their annual Christmas Tree Sale to raise funds for the house. Micheal lived a happy life with Paul.

He was most proud of his son, Justin, his joint ownership in a vacation home in Phoenix, Arizona which he shared and remodeled with his partner, his Midnight Blue 2007 Volkswagen New Beatle, and the recent recognition of his and Paul's Domestic Partnership by the State of Washington under Senate Bill 5336 which became Chapter 156, 2007 Laws of the State of Washington. Micheal loved living each day in spite of his disabilities and he never tired of endlessly correcting the spelling of his name, Micheal. He was devoted to his dogs and always had a big smile for his loving friends. He will be missed by all of us who had the honor of counting him as our friend. Donations in Micheal's honor may be made to Dunshee House.
