Zero to 60:The five Gayest cars I've ever seen
Zero to 60:The five Gayest cars I've ever seen
by J.T. Hills - SGN Contributing Writer

COUNTDOWN:

#5) 2008 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA
With Volkswagen's earthy '70s roots and contemporary urban styling, the Jetta is a perennial favorite in the Gay ghettos across the land. For 2008, Volkswagen has added a more powerful 5-cylinder engine and six standard airbags. The Jetta's pedigree affords it excellent steering, handling, and comfortable seats for a great ride.

#4) 2008 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID
The Gays seem to be the first on the block when it comes to fashion, and what's more fashionable than Hybrid technology? When gas was under three bucks a gallon it was embraced, and now that it's almost five & those forward-thinking homos are reaping the MPG rewards. For 2008, Honda has added a continuously variable transmission and side impact and curtain airbags to the Civic Hybrid. With the Civic you can always expect high quality, responsive handling, and, of course, impressive gas mileage. For those wanting to haul things around, though, you might be a little miffed by the inability to fold down the rear seat & and then there's the split instrument panel that's a little confusing.

#3) 2008 AUDI TT
For those uberhip, fun-in-the-sun-yet-I-still-want-the-ability-to-trek-my-way-up-to-Whistler-in-February-with-available-all-wheel-drive queens, there's the 2008 Audi TT Roadster. It made its mark as the choice of dot-com new money at the beginning of the millennium, and now its been completely redesigned for 2008. The TT is available with either an optional turbo-charged four-cylinder or V-6, sequential manual transmission, power rear spoiler, and comes in either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. Just like the old, the new Audi is known for performance and safety with standard stability control and side curtain airbags.

#2) MAZDA MX-5 MIATA
The Mazda MX-5 Miata & if there was a stereotype of what a Gay would drive, um, I think this would be it. The MX-5 Miata is small and sassy, and since the 2007 redesign, it's more refined. New for 2008, the MX-5 comes with a manual soft top or retractable hard top, choice of three different transmissions, a new 2.0 four-cylinder engine, and side impact airbags. So what if you're drafted by other cars on the road? The Miata is fun to drive, it has a great six-speed manual transmission, and you don't lose any man-purse room in the trunk with the top up or down.

#1) 2008 JEEP WRANGLER
Who needs a pride sticker on their car when you can just drive a Wrangler? You go, girl! Chances are you bought those strappy strap leather sandals at the Copa CabaƱa, you hunk of a Manalo-lovin', baseball cap-wearin', fierce leather queen. In 2007, Jeep redesigned the iconic Wrangler. For 2008, it comes with a standard V-6 engine, standard all-wheel-drive, an available heavy duty suspension - when the Jeeps a-rockin', don't come a-knockin' - and available long wheel base. True to the original, the Wrangler has world-class off-road capability for, um, Volunteer Park, and a standard stability system. It has the aerodynamics of a brick and rides like a buckboard, but rugged and basic is always a classic.
