| King County issues proclamation honoring the late Rev. Gwen Hall |
Sunday, August 24, was named Reverend Gwendolynn Hall Day in Martin Luther King Jr. County by Larry Gossett, councilmember on behalf of the Metropolitan King County Council.
Reverend Hall's life work reflected the principles of our county's namesake, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in that she was a consistent advocate for equality and justice for all people and spoke out on a broad range of issues including the war, immigration, Gay rights and police brutality.
Reverend Hall's life compassion and love for all human beings led her to care for many people as they suffered through HIV/AIDS to ensure that no one should leave this earth feeling that they were not loved. In her passing, on the day of this honor, we acknowledge the legacy and want to express much love in her memory and life.
In Martin Luther King Jr. County, we urge all people to observe this day by seeking some area in the community to volunteer a few hours to give aid to people in need.
