Logo network launches video library
Logo, a division of Viacom Inc.'s (NYSE: VIA and VIA.B) MTV Networks, today announced that 365Gay.com, America's most-read Gay news source, will present the most comprehensive online collection of LGBT history related video. Logo today launches the 365Gay.com video library and a LGBT history timeline to commence the beginning of LGBT history month.

In celebration of the month to honor key figures from LGBT history, Logo's 365Gay.com is educating and enlightening its readers by offering a full spectrum of LGBT history with its new, unique LGBT history video library. The collection of media will include compelling documentaries such as Brother Outsider: The Life of Bayard Rustin, highlighting the life and times of Bayard Rustin - Martin Luther King, Jr.'s mentor and advisor, and films including Brother to Brother, the story of African-American men in the Gay and Lesbian subculture of the Harlem Renaissance.

In partnership with the Equality Forum, the collection of video also includes 30-second short bios highlighting key figures in history such as the first elected out politician in the U.S., Harvey Milk, WNBA basketball sensation, Sheryl Swoopes, and renowned writer Gertrude Stein. Rarely seen interviews and footage from well-known moments in LGBT history further solidifies Logo's role as the number-one source for LGBT content.

In addition to this free media library, Logo will have an on-air weekend marathon Saturday, October 18 through Sunday, October 19 of documentaries and films that illustrate the diverse stories of LGBT history, ranging from The Life and Times of Allen Ginsberg, a documentary exploring the life of one of the greatest voices of the Beat Generation, to Roxy: The Last Dance, a retrospective look at an iconic New York City nightclub, to Reporter Zero, the telling of the late Randy Shilts whose journalism and book And the Band Played On: Politics, People and the AIDS Epidemic changed social dialogue around HIV/AIDS in America.

This multiplatform initiative highlights Logo's dedication to being the number one aggregator of LGBT media on-air, online and on mobile. Logo's 365Gay LGBT History Weekend will air on Saturday, October 18 through Sunday, October 19.
