GAY SOCKS

I went to high school in a small farming community with an enrollment of just over 300 students many of whom were bused in daily.

At that time of my life I was a virtual isolate except for one person who I met in one of my classes and appeared to know much about our classmates.

When we were talking once he alluded to the fact that Thursday was QUEER DAY on campus and that you could delineate the less than straight people who wore green socks.

For years I always checked fellow students wearing the colorful socks and into later years which I found out was not true. During the high school years fluorescent socks were very popular.

Although I never met a Gay person in school several of the people I suspected went into show business and became very successful in later years.

Out of curiosity I spent much time in the school library perusing everything I could find which was minimal about homosexuality and by the time I graduated I was ready to explore a new venue.

To this day I often check men for green socks and don't go out on Thursdays.
