Dancing with women and missing "army sweetie"
by Rajkhet Dirzhud-Rashid - SGN A&E Writer

Time to make soup, so go get a larger pot (and a new skillet to sauté some chanterelles - yes, honey, this Genderqueer kid can cook, thank you very much). Time to get out the scarves and gloves and time to look at buying some hot new boots for fall. Happy Equinox, kiddies, and thinking about my fave season inspires me to tell you all about the VIP opening I attended at the new H&M store downtown. Delish mini cheesecakes, music spun by Lindsay Lohan's gal pal (a friend in the know told me this little dish) and lots and lots of cute clothes, shoes and accessories for OMG prices. Even prices this po' chile could afford, so of course I picked up a new silver necklace (that this one wore to see Sex In Seattle last Saturday, over her "pirate shirt" and those leopard leggings).

Oh, and honey, those leopard leggings (from Newport News, dahlings - go to their website at www.newportnews.com to see these and other yummy fall things) finally brought a certain tall blond (who's really a tall redhead) to The Digs last Friday night for some "akshon" that lasted until the wee hours of Saturday. That was the reason this one ran late doing everything that day, but oh, dearies, it was sooo worth it! Even as I sit here writing this, I feel so worshipped, and my gorgeous behind has finally been truly justified. Oh, yeah!

There's a reason this one sticks with Aquarians and Leos, and speaking of Leos, this one chatted up and exchanged digits and e-mail info with another tall blond at the second night performance by Daniel Beatty (who, if you missed him this time, you must see him if he returns to "Rat City"). Still waiting for an answer from that one after I rushed home and e-mailed, but, hey, I'm keeping busy, so no worries, eh? Ah, and yes, once again (always!), this one is missing, missing, missing "army sweetie," maybe because two years ago this time of year we were a hot item before that one's deployment "over there."

Guess this new missing is 'cause a certain young man rides the bus with this one, when she is returning from seeing the Fabulous Daughter, and that young man looks so like "army sweetie," this one can only sigh and feel a deep heart tug of wanting, but not getting.

Ah well, maybe another life, who knows. In the meantime, there is that new Aquarian hottie and the possibility of a new Leo playmate, so I'm good. And, hey, this one did a nice two -tep to some soulful singing by local singer Mercedes at the Sistah 2 Sistah event last Friday, when they hosted two Zimbabwean Lesbians and two Palestinian Lesbians who were touring to give us all the lowdown in those countries for GLBTQI folks (and, honey, it ain't good, so if you need a cause to give to, Aswat - aswatgroup.org/english/ and galz.co.zw/ - could sure use your help). The smile she gave me after was so worth it, and to think I'd only been interested in young ones of late. Age is a good thing, my dahlings, fo' sho.

So, what else has this one been noodling about, or doing, or reveling in of late? Well, I'm still steamed about the last episode of The New Adventures of Old Christine, where the whole older women dating younger men thing was given the rightwing spin, and trust me, "New Christine" didn't come off looking good (she was the "older woman"). Grrrrr, and shame on those idiot writers for making this delightful situation that some folks (like yours truly) are actually enjoying with hot ones from the younger set into such a "morals lesson." Then there's that T -Mobile commercial where the dad is confronted with his possible cheating by his daughter, and then said daughter is told she can't have any contact via phone with the hottie she's into. Can we say, "double standard," and roll back morality to the Father Knows Best days? I smell the rightwing's hand in this and trust me, it's an homage to McCain and Palin, and the feeling by some fools that those two might win that's behind this horsecrap.

Big raspberries to all o' them and big thumbs up to Obama, and Gregoire and Burner (who this one still thinks is hella hot). And yay to this month's Vogue for spotlighting both Michelle Obama's fashion sense and running an interview with Valerie Jarrett, Obama advisor. Smooches to my fave magazine. Oh, and if you're not watching Gossip Girl, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Fringe, or the new season of Smallville (with that hottie who's playing Aquaman), or the new season of Supernatural (with those supah hot brothers), then, honey, you are not on the jammin' edge of it all. So get with the program.

And what has this one tried and loved (besides parts of certain redheads and the new H&M store) that she wants to share with you right now? Well, you may not know, but Jane, an expensive but yummers cosmetics line has a low-priced mineral powder in all the best shades, and it does make one's skin look flawless, believe me. Pick that up at Bartels, honey. Also try the new fall colors in Nature's Minerals at The Body Shoppe (in Pacific Place). I was wearing the "graphite" when I attended Sex In Seattle, and got cruised by not only a hot audience member, but one of the cast members (who does a sexy scene in a cowboy hat, and no shirt, thus showing some totally sweet tattoos). Try it and see what happens for you. Finally, also do try Versace's new eau de parfum (which you can get at Nordstrom), and see if someone does you all night too (like what happened to this one when she wore it last Friday). So, that's it, my tasty, sweet blackberries (the fruit, not the electronic toy), and keep remembering that we are guests on the planet, not rulers, so be kind to Mother Earth. Drive less, don't wear dead animals (unless it's your grandma's, and by then the original owner probably has reincarnated, anyway), and shop at your farmer's market. Oh, and yes, I'm going to keep wearing leather, and yes, I know it's a bit of a quandary for me, but who said this one was perfect eh? At least I try to keep my carbon footprint low, and I take the bus, and buy from farmers (some of whom are very hot!). And do come and hear me read new and old poetry at Ladies First at Hidmos (20th and Jackson on the 4th of October, starting at 8 p.m.) Buhbye! Oh, but must not forget, this one was dazzled by a show of gawgeous hotness when she stopped by that new 'Zaw place at the corner of 15th and Pine the other day. Gotta check these folks out to be sure, 'cause if their food's half as good as they look, I'm so there. Peace, out!
