Born in Minnesota and raised in Southern California, David moved to Seattle in his early 20s and became a permanent resident. Having studied art and design in college, he found his calling in flowers and ran a shop in Wallingford with his longtime partner, Michael Roden, for more than 20 years. With the sale of their shop and Michael passing, Binky found a new partner in Gordon Layman to spend the last three years.
Binky was involved with the Knights of Malta, tended bar part time at the Seawolf and subsequently Martins off Madison, and enjoyed vacations in Hawaii with his many friends.
Sunday, October 12, his friends from the floral industry, the Knights of Malta and his many years in Seattle will gather at Martins off Madison to celebrate his life from 2 to 5 p.m.
