Snowball: "Engendered Species"
Saturday, December 6, 6 PM
Neighbours Nightclub

Ingersoll Gender Center throws their annual holiday bash on December 6, 2008 at Neighbours Nightclub. This year's theme is "Engendered Species." Snowball is a celebration of Ingersoll's continuing three-decade presence as a resource for the Puget Sound Transgender community. Attire is dressy to semi-formal, and proceeds benefit the organization's efforts toward Transgender employment. The doors open at the Capitol Hill venue at 6 p.m., and festivities run until 10 p.m., when the club opens for its regular Saturday evening program.

Special guest acoustic band Coyote Grace (http://www.coyotegrace.org) will play two sets, and the $15 tickets at the door cover a buffet spread. Emcees Sarah Michelle Fetters and Alexa Manila will make an appearance, as well. Neighbours is located at 1509 Broadway, between Pike and Pine Streets on Capitol Hill. Tickets can be obtained at the door, or for more information, check out the Ingersoll homepage at http://www.ingersollcenter.org. Coyote Grace is a duo comprised of singer Joe Stevens and Ingrid Elizabeth on bass. Their playlist includes a diversity of bluegrass, blues, and folk rock. The pair - who met in Seattle, and now live in Northern California - tour all over the US, and have been featured with the Indigo Girls.

At a time when America prepares for serious change, Ingersoll itself has undergone significant change, in a dramatic year that saw its one-time parent organization, Seattle's LGBT Center, dissolve and reorganize. Ingersoll has re-chartered itself as an independent organization with a new board and new determination to serve a growing Trans community in the metropolitan area. Ingersoll holds regular group meetings at Seattle Counseling Service on Capitol Hill, and shares office space with Equal Rights Washington. Ingersoll founder Marsha Botzer continues to chair the organization's new board. For more information, check the Ingersoll website at http://www.ingersollcenter.org or contact Elayne Wylie at ilovefilm@gmail.com.
