Born March 20, 1967, Michael Leon Hawkins died peacefully with remarkable grace January 21 early in the morning with his partner and the support of countless loved ones and friends. He left his sister, Tonia Hawkins, behind with us, and lots of loving relatives too numerous to count. A poem was drafted quickly on his departure by a very dear and loving friend. I just talked to my dear friend the other day. In such a short time he is already on his way. Down a path I can not follow I can only watch as he makes his journey which brings me great sorrow. Days will pass and memories will fade, but I will always wish that you my dear friend could have stayed. Memorial to be held Saturday January 24 at 3:00 p.m. at 1515 S. Pearl St, Seattle, WA 98108.
