To the Board of Directors, College of Monarchs, General Membership and Community at Large: In the immortal words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "I have a dream&" In that historic speech Dr. King delivered a piece of history starting a new way of thinking, making it OK for all people to have dreams and hopes. During my entire career as a member of the Imperial Sovereign Court I have always held a dream of my own, and that dream was to become Emperor of the Imperial Sovereign Court of Seattle. With that being said, it is with great pleasure and humility that I, Douglas Anderson, do here-by declare my candidacy for the position of Emperor 35 of the Imperial Sovereign Court of Seattle. I have been involved in the International Court System for 32 years and held many titles and received many awards throughout my career. Some of my more distinguished titles include: First Lady to Hurricane Olivia of Portland OR, Ambassador to all courts from The Imperial Sovereign of Bellingham WA (their first lifetime title), Imperial Crown Arch-Duchess for life to The Imperial Sovereign Court of Portland OR, and Imperial Princess 9 for life To the Imperial Sovereign Court of Sacramento CA. I have been involved with the Imperial Sovereign Court of Seattle now for 8 years and since have served as a board member and Crown Prince to Rainier 33, Mark Dubois. Throughout this time I have been involved with many fundraisers and community awareness events. I have supported several organizations including The Imperial Court System, The Knights of Malta, Seattle Men In Leather, Rise and Shine, Lifelong Aids Alliance, and Equal Rights Washington to just name a few. Outside of the Court System and GLBT community, I am also actively involved in other community activities. Currently I am on the Board of Directors for Center Park, a disabled housing group, as Vice President for my second-term. Last year, I served on a committee presided over by Seattle's Mayor Nickels on funding for senior citizens health and food programs. Also on a regular basis, I help in a low-income ceramics class helping people keep their creative spark alive and kicking. If chosen by you to represent the organization as your Emperor, representative to the International Court System and community at large, not only would it be making a lifetime dream of mine come true, but I would be honored to be that person. My goals for my term as Emperor would be to increase awareness and membership of the Imperial Sovereign Court of Seattle, bring the knowledge of the past together with the free spirit of the youth, raise money for charity, as well as bringing the fun back to FUNdraising. I hope that this serves as a testament to my character and experience as to what I will bring to the office of Emperor if elected by you, the public. Please remember you have a choice, make that choice to vote for me, Douglas Anderson, on February 8 between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM at the Richmark building, located next to the State Liquor store on the corner of 12th and E.
