Alan Henry Johnson, 54, was born April 10, 1954 in Bellingham, WA and passed away peacefully in his Tacoma home on Christmas morning (2008) with his partner of 27 years, Michael Barrett, at his side. Alan graduated from high school in Ferndale, WA and later graduated from a business school in Seattle. Throughout the years, Alan made his home in Seattle, Port Orchard and Tacoma. Alan is survived by his parents, Max and Luella Johnson of Dowling Park, FL, his partner Michael Barrett of Tacoma, WA, his sister Helen Green of Batavia, IL, sister-in-law Debbie Johnson of Batavia, IL, Carol Spurrier, a dear friend, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and especially by everyone at Rise N' Shine, where Alan volunteered for 20 years. Alan was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis M. Johnson. We all love you and miss you deeply. A celebration of Alan's life will be held at Rise N' Shine on April 18, 2009 from 1-4 p.m. Rise N' Shine is located at 417 23rd Ave. S., Seattle, WA 98144. This is a potluck gathering.
