The Sisters have money to give away!
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, The Abbey of St. Joan are now accepting applications for the 2009 Charity Granting Cycle.
For the last several years the Sisters have been giving out grants annually to non-profit 501(c)3 organizations in Washington State. The organizations who have qualified for grants in the past have all been supportive of our GLBTQ community is some way. Providing services for every type of need from HIV/AIDS services, STD prevention, GLBT veterans, youth support, rights to marry, and the list goes on and on. "Since our grant program was started, we've given away thousands and thousands of dollars to help support our community," says Sister Dawnna Creation, Grants Chairnun.
In order to apply to receive funds, please go to The Sisters website at www.theabbey.org. There you will find the link in the lower right corner, "Sisters Charity Grant Fund". By following that link you will find the application for download and printing plus instructions on filling it out so that you give us the information we are looking for.
Hurry, because all applications must reach The Abbey no later than June 19, 2009 to be considered. This will give us enough time to review each one carefully before we distribute the money at our Anniversary Party set for July 18, 2009. Stay tuned for location and time.
