RACHEL MADDOW, YOU SHOCKED ME
Rachel Maddow, you shocked me today (August 4) when you turned SRS (sex reassignment surgery) into a Transphobic joke. You were deflating yet one more GOP lie about healthcare proposals. But why did you attack your LGBT Trans-sisters, Rachel? I have always supported, adored, and promoted and defended you as an intelligent, feisty, right-on out-Lesbian progressive. You blew me away when your little "underwear industry" yuk-yuk hardee har-har moment instantly diminished the dignity of all mtf & ftm Transgender people on a show viewed by many progressive people. Why? Seriously? Do you really feel contemptuous toward us, your Transgender fans and colleagues? I am so disappointed. Would you advocate chopping the "T" off of LGBT, then? I am a Transexual woman, a lifelong feminist, and a Lesbian through & through. What am I supposed to think about you now? Help me on this, please. Rachel, dear, SRS should be paid for by health insurance; that is one of our many struggles. SRS is available - free - in Cuba. And it is covered in other countries too. You are entitled to your opinion. But would care to clarify your comments, because this is already burning up on the LGBT web (or "internets" as you insist on calling it).
Warmest regards nonetheless,
Calamity Progress
