Thank You from Three Dollar Bill Cinema

I wanted to thank the SGN for being a sponsor of Three Dollar Bill Outdoor Cinema. We had almost 2,000 people over the three nights of films. It was our most well-attended outdoor cinema series ever!

Thank you for your support and for helping us advertise this fun community event.

Best,

Rachael

Thank You Mr. Knittel

Mr. Shaun Knittel,

I simply want to thank you for the wonderful review of my poetry, which you wrote for The Seattle Gay News, Issue 31, Volume 37, July 31, 2009. My four poems - "Back," "Gay 101," "Wedding," and "My Laundromat" - were published in Gay City: Volume 2. I stumbled upon your review when I conducted a Google search of myself. I will be participating in an event on Gay Italian American writers at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore on the Upper West Side of Manhattan on October 12, reading my poetry, discussing my work, and signing books, along with three other writers. Your review means a lot to me.

Best,

Michael Carosone

Run, Ed, Run

Dear Senator Murray:

Now isn't the time for Hamlet; now is the time for Profiles in Courage. Both Seattle mayoral nominees, Mallahan and McGinn, are political unknowns who have never held public office; you are neither.

As President John F. Kennedy once said, "We do these things not because they are easy, but because they are hard." Write-in campaigns are difficult, but not impossible. You have city-wide name recognition, and an impressive legislative record. You aren't the Gay senator; you are the senator who happens to be Gay. Your extensive experience in both the House and the Senate will put you on firm footing in dealing with the Seattle City Council.

Sincerely,

Steven L. Kendall, PCO
43rd District Democrats
