Seattle Volleyball Club's awards & new season

The Seattle Volleyball Club recently conducted its Fall 2009 Season awards ceremony at the Purr Cocktail Lounge on Thursday, January 7. The awards ceremony was the culmination of 10 weeks of league play followed by a grueling daylong tournament.

The Division 3 teams that earned awards were the 1st-place Ween Warriors, 2nd-place Thundercats II, and the 3rd-place The Other Team.

The Division 4 teams that earned awards were the 1st-place Sexy Sideouts, 2nd-place Kitty Scratchers, and the 3rd-place Full Servicers.

In addition to team awards, Seattle Volleyball Club recognized those players that had standout performances and led their teams throughout competition.

DIVISION 3 ALL LEAGUE TEAM
Most Valuable Player: Katrina Beckman - Ween Warriors
Defensive Award: Vuong Vu - Thundercats II
All-Star: Tom Grechis - Ween Warriors
All-Star: Paul McWilliams - Thundercats II
All-Star: Kevin Niuvela - The Other Team
All-Star: Edgar Longoria - Bend 'n' Snap

DIVISION 4 ALL LEAGUE TEAM
Most Valuable Player: Jimmy Simmons - Sexy Sideouts
Defensive Award: Robert Fan - Sexy Sideouts
All-Star: Beau Johnston - Kitty Scratchers
All-Star: Todd Bullock - Kitty Scratchers
All-Star: James Guzman - Full Servicers
All-Star: Glenn Bafia - Block 'n' Roll

SVC offers four levels of volleyball competition ranging from recreational to power, as well as skills clinics and open gyms. SVC teams also compete in volleyball competitions in other parts of the U.S. The club offers great opportunities to socialize, exercise, and hone volleyball skills.

SVC will be starting its Winter League Season on January 12. There are still openings for players in all divisions. For further information, visit the SVC website at www.seattlevolleyballclub.
