DECLARATION OF CANDIDACY FOR EMPEROR FROM HARRIE P. ALTMAN, IMPERIAL PRINCE XXXII

To the Imperial Sovereign Court of Seattle, Board of Directors and to the City of Seattle,

It's time again for us as individuals to offer our time, blood, sweat and tears for the betterment of the Court of Seattle and our community.

My name is Harrie P. Altman. I was made aware several years ago that there really was a Gay Court System, and my first Coronation was when Larry and Cleve stepped down at Jack McGovern's. Since then, I have been involved with both the Imperial Court of Seattle and the United Ebony Council of Washington. I joined The UEC during the seventh reign of Kurt and Carla. During the reign of 10, I ran for the title of King 11 and won and five years later did it again for King 16. After that I served as General Treasurer of the UEC for four years and Ball treasurer for three years and later I served as the UEC Board President. Through the years, I have helped with many coronations and functions. I have always enjoyed and been proud to serve when called upon. Several years later, I got this hair-brained idea that I'm going for the title of Prince XXXII of the Imperial Court of Seattle and I won. Thank you.

I served as Imperial Prince XXXII of Seattle between April 2006 and April 2007. With my Princess, we had a good year. And now, after waiting a few years more, I figured that it's my time to run for Emperor. If elected, I will do my very best to work with our Court here in Seattle for the betterment of the community at large. Remember, ladies and gentlemen, the Emperor is only as good as the Court that's behind him.

What would I like to do, you ask? First off, I will not make any promises, as most of the time they are hard to keep. But with the help from the community, I will get other organizations involved with us by holding various events. We all should be able to work together for a common goal and enjoyment. Sure, there is a lot of work involved in achieving this, but the rewards, as an organization and as representatives of the Seattle Gay community, will be worth the effort.

I will be proud to represent the Court of Seattle as Emperor 36. For the most part, I want to be a stay-at-home kind of Emperor, and by that I mean going up and down the 1-5 corridor as well as other parts of our state. And, yes, I'll try to attend other events outside of the state of Washington. During the past several years, I have represented the Court as a member and a past IP, I traveled as far south as Eugene, Oregon, north to Bellingham and the city of Spokane.

I have enjoyed being a part of the Imperial Court of Seattle these past years and look forward to representing this organization as your next Emperor #36 and for the community at large.

Respectfully,

Harrie (Lee) Altman
