Jackie Beat returns to Seattle for one-night-only holiday show

by Shaun Knittel - SGN Associate Editor

Jackie Beat
December 9
Julia's on Broadway

Jackie Beat, the superstar drag queen of 'Baby Got Front' fame, is on her way to Seattle for one night only! On December 9, grab your hag, your BFF, some glitter, and a sense of humor, and head over to Julia's on Broadway (300 Broadway E.) for Jackie Beat's 'All-You-Can-Eat' Christmas tour!

'I promise to ruin all your favorite holiday songs forever,' Jackie Beat told Seattle Gay News. 'I take all those warm and fuzzy feelings and make them cold and horrible. I honestly don't get it, but people seem to like it! Then the next time you hear the song, maybe while shopping or at your mom's house for Christmas dinner, you will hear my awful, nasty, mean-spirited lyrics. Ho ho ho!'

Jackie Beat combines comedy with drag in a manner that will have you falling out of your seat in fits of laughter.

'It's that time of year again,' Jackie Beat announces, 'time to do what we Americans do best! Worship the God of our choosing? Celebrate with friends and family? Show gratitude for our many blessings? Hell no! It's time to eat, bitch!'

In March, Jackie Beat performed her first-ever solo act in Seattle for a sold-out audience. 'I had a great time,' Jackie Beat told SGN. 'Seattle is a wonderful city. Any city that is responsible for Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart is all right by me!'

Not one to let drag fame go to her head, Jackie Beat says she loves her fans. 'My fans know the words to my songs better than I do,' she joked. 'I adore my fans what else am I going to say? I mean, I can't admit that they are annoying bastard people who think we are really friends when the truth is I am a star and they need to just give me their money, sit in the audience, and keep their goddamned mouths shut, can I?! No. So, let's just stick with I adore my fans.'

'I call my fans jackals, because they are wild, fierce, and defecate wherever they please,' Jackie Beat concluded.

This time around, Jackie Beat says her fans can expect 'more hilarious comedy, flawless singing, and a snazzy new outfit! And just a little less of me I have lost some weight!'

General show seating starts at 8:45 p.m. with the show starting at 9 p.m. Everyone in attendance will receive a fun stocking-stuffer from Julia's on Broadway, but VIP ticketholders are treated to a meet and greet with Jackie Beat after the show. Dinner is available before the show from 5-8 p.m. For reservations, call (206) 334-0513. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/137429.
