Lights, camera, Oscar party at Purr!

by Albert Rodriguez - SGN A&E Writer

A psycho ballerina vs. a Lesbian mom, English royalty vs. American tech geeks, toys vs. dragons, and a daring Greek entry that could upset heavier-buzzed submissions from Mexico and Denmark in the Best Foreign Language field. These are some of the matchups for the 83rd Academy Awards, to be telecast on February 27. Seattle Gay News is once again teaming with Purr Cocktail Lounge for an Oscar party that's downright cheap it's free, actually and casual (no tux rental, you can wear sneaks). Consider this your first invitation to join us for an awards viewing event with prizes, drink specials, multiple flatscreens (Purr added more since last year's show), and the comfort to relax and enjoy the program without being asked for a donation. Come cheer the films you love, snicker at whatever mismatched concoction Helena Bonham Carter throws on herself, drool over Andrew Garfield in a suit (he's already got Spider-Man abs), walk away with cool loot gift certificates, CDs, Hawaii goodie bags but most of all, just come hang out in a friendly atmosphere and watch the awards from beginning to end. February 27 is the date to mark on your calendar. Stay glued to Seattle Gay News for details and updates on our upcoming Oscars bash at Purr.
