Gay City volunteers and staff joined members of the local community to celebrate the first anniversary of the Gay City LGBT Library
Gay City volunteers and staff joined members of the local community to celebrate the first anniversary of the Gay City LGBT Library on February 17 at Kaladi Bros. Coffee (511 E. Pike St.). The Gay City LGBT Library is a collection of over 2,000 books that cover a wide range of topics. Books are available for free checkout with a valid ID. 'We're excited to be celebrating the first anniversary of the Gay City LGBT Library, and are grateful to those who thought to move this incredible resource to Gay City after the Seattle LGBT Community Center closed,' Fred Swanson, executive director for Gay City, told Seattle Gay News. 'We appreciate the generosity of our donors who have doubled the size of the collection over the past year, and look forward to finding new ways to connect LGBT folks in Seattle to the library. Two recent examples of that are our writing workshop series Smudgy Notebook and Gay City: Volume Four At Second Glance.' Congratulations, Gay City!
