Election goes as expected locally, excites nationally

Tuesday's election went pretty much as expected in Seattle, but results from other parts of the country show a stunning repudiation of the right-wing Republican political agenda.
A record number of LGBT candidates were elected to public office, some of them in areas where none have been elected before.

Senate Judiciary Committee advances DOMA repeal

On a straight party-line vote, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee approved the Respect for Marriage Act to repeal DOMA on November 10, and sent it to the full Senate.
All 10 Democrats on the committee voted for the bill, and all eight Republicans voted against.

Hillary Clinton calls for 'AIDS-free generation'

U.K. Gay blood ban officially lifted

The all-encompassing ban on Gay or Bisexual men donating blood was officially lifted November 7, the U.K. Department of Health confirmed.
Now, men who have not had Gay sex during the past year will be able to donate, providing they meet other criteria.

Killer of David Kato gets 30 years -
Prosecution blames victim for his own murder
