at November meeting
Seattle Chapter of PFLAG will hold its Annual Meeting at the beginning of its monthly chapter support meeting this coming Monday, October 10th. The meeting will be held 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Seattle 1st Baptist Church, located at 1111 Harvard Avenue at Union/Seneca Streets on Seattle's First Hill just northwest of Seattle University. The chapter concluded its 2004-05 annual year on September 30. We extend an invitation to all interested LGBT parents and friends to attend this annual celebration of what has been a very successful year.
Please put the evening of Monday, November 14 for our November Monthly
Seattle Chapter Support Meeting. It will feature UW Sociology Professor John Longres talking on the topic of "The Cultural Anthropology of Homosexuality". This will be the kick-off for the 2005-2006 series of support meetings looking at the overall topic of the GLBT community's efforts to take itself to the next level in Seattle.
The Seattle Chapter of (PFLAG) Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersexed and Queer minority individuals is a "we don't skip anybody" support organization for the entire LGBTIQ community. All are welcome to attend-as long as they are willing to accept responsibility for confidentiality after the chapter meeting. The chapter's efforts serve to fulfill PFLAG's mission of providing support, advocacy and education for and to the friends and families of LGBTIQ individuals in metropolitan Seattle and South King County.
Other Seattle Chapter support meetings are held in South King County at Renton and Des Moines on the first Wednesday and fourth Monday of the month respectively. Thirty-nine (39) chapters offer support meetings across the state. If you have further questions, please call the PFLAG helpline at (206) 325-7724 for more PFLAG info or check our web-site at www.Seattle-PFLAG.org.
