Radiohead, The Black Keys, Snow Patrol, Sleigh Bells announce Seattle shows |

Get in line - for tickets, that is. Several big shows were announced this week, trumpeting a very active concert season in Seattle this spring.
Radiohead will make its arena debut, when the Grammy-winning band performs April 9 at Key Arena. They've previously appeared at outdoor venues, such as White River Amphitheatre, prior to 2012's road outing supporting their latest work, The King of Limbs. Radiohead, an alternative music icon that has released a brilliant series of albums since 1993's Pablo Honey, enjoys a large Gay fan base around the world, particularly in Seattle where non-mainstream rock is well appreciated. Tickets for Radiohead, with opening act Other Lives (who played the Tractor Tavern in late 2011), go on sale January 14 (10 a.m.) at all Ticketmaster locations. All tickets are priced at $69.50.
The Black Keys, two-time Grammy winners and a nominee again this year, will perform in Seattle for the first time since 2010's 'Deck The Hall Ball' at WaMu Theater. El Camino is the latest recording to emerge from Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, and they're taking it for a North American spin that delivers the duo here on May 8. This time around, The Black Keys will blow the roof off Key Arena. Tickets priced at $47 go on sale January 20 (10 a.m.) - visit www.aeglive.com for ticket outlets. Believe me, they're worth every cent. Arctic Monkeys are booked as the supporting act.
Snow Patrol, who interviewed with Seattle Gay News in 2009, are headed back to these caffeinated parts on May 1 for a one-night performance at the Paramount Theatre. The group just ushered out its newest album, Fallen Empires, stateside this week after releasing it overseas late last year. 'New York,' the next single from the CD, was recently featured on Grey's Anatomy. Snow Patrol appeared this week on Letterman and are also scheduled to guest star on the Ellen show. At press time, ticket information was not immediately available except for price - $31.25. Visit www.stgpresents.org in the days ahead, or follow me on Twitter (seattlerocker) for ticket sale date.
Sleigh Bells, who interviewed with Seattle Gay News for our year-end music issue in 2010, are finally returning to the area on February 24 at The Showbox Market. The duo - Alexis Krauss, Derek Miller - will play the Emerald City just three days after the release of their sophomore effort, Reign of Terror. Only six cities are slated on Sleigh Bells' itinerary next month, and we're one of them. At press time, ticket information was not immediately available but it should be posted soon at www.showboxonline.com. And yes, I'll be at this show & with bells on (sorry, had to).
Other artists headed to Seattle soon include Elvis Costello and the Imposters (April 12, Paramount Theatre), Rodrigo & Gabriela (April 3, Paramount Theatre), and Delta Spirit (May 4, Neumos).
