Lady Gaga announces Tacoma date

by Albert Rodriguez - SGN A&E Writer

Two and a half years after towing her massive, and rather impressive, 'Monster Ball' tour to the Tacoma Dome, Lady Gaga is doing it again.

The international music icon revealed more dates for her new road show, the 'Born This Way Ball,' for early 2013, including a Tacoma stop on January 14. The tour began last spring in Asia and Australia, and is currently winding its way through Europe. Between now and the North American leg, Gaga will also perform in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Columbia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and South Africa.

The 'Born This Way Ball,' said to be the grandest show of the pop star's career, is helping to boost last year's album, the similarly titled Born This Way, which has produced the chart-topping hits 'You and I,' 'The Edge of Glory,' and the title track. The song 'Judas' has drawn criticism, especially from religious groups. Lady GaGa was forced to cancel her concert in Jakarta, Indonesia earlier this year when protests erupted in the mostly Muslim nation.

Ticket information for the Tacoma show and all other North American appearances will be unveiled on September 18. Grab a copy of SGN or like us on Facebook for tour updates.

On a side note, Lady Gaga's shocking meat dress, worn at the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony in 2010, is part of a touring exhibit, Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power, which opens September 7 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. The exhibit also features items by Madonna, Loretta Lynn, Stevie Nicks, Cyndi Lauper, Cher, Donna Summer, and the B-52s.
